Unfortunately, I made a bid mistake in canning my pre-Easter installation along with the CD and installed the Easter Kanotix. Now I cannot get Easter Kanotix to connect to Internet by using the detection applet. I have never understood why bugs seems to appear in the hard drive installation on many distros that are not apparent in the Live CD's. Kanotix seems to have the most complete printer support of any Linux and works with my Epson CX3810 printer. How do I get this penguin out of the ditch and get connected?

Not sure what the "detection applet" is but did you try
netcardconfig

I got the same problem and I also went the Configure ADSL/PPP0E route , but it failed.
The program says that there is one recognized, (eth0?) but no configuration.
In Windows evething works fine.
How can I get my internetconnection work?
