Hi guys i've upgrade my 04-2005 version in 01-2006.
I'vnt find problems during upgrade...
But from the first time that i've boot the new version it charge the xserver and after 1 minutes that i can see the desktop automatically it goes in terminal login...(char version)
such as
linuxbox# login:
password:
why?
i've a sony vaio and i'vnt ever problems with 2005-04
maybe must i use a boot option in grub?
how can i resolve this issue?

I had also such problems. But the have been resolved after the fisrt dist-upgrade of Kanotix 2006-01 RC1.
Please dist-upgrade your system (I expect you know how to do that). If after one minute the system shows you a plain terminal, pres CTRL+ALT+F7 and you will get back to your desktop.
