Finally came out, I'm glad I waited instead of dealing with the beta installer, now it's just an automatic upgrade in apt. Just came out.

As a note, I had problems with my FF locking up on certain sites and it was flash related. If you have this problem, installing the adblock extension for FF will solve it, as it did for me. I think it has something to do with poorly optimized flash ads, but I am not totally certain. Plus, you will never again be tempted to "HIT THE MONKEY FOR FREE IPOD!!!!11"

If you did go with the Beta you have to remove it from :
/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins
/usr/lib/firefox/plugins
/usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/plugins

before you can upgrade using the package that is now in Sid. At least those were the directories I had to delete it from before I could get the upgrade to go through.

I use NoScript to block flash along with Stylish to block most ads, seems to work as well or better than messing with Adblock.

I manually added the plugin a few weeks ago to each of the plugin folders. The latest d-u has just overwritten the three plugins with no manual removal.

What is the name of the file?
Is it in the **censored** repos?
I did search & show with apt-cache but couldn't find it

Since I upgraded to flash (from the repo) the sound in flash has gone out of synch.
With the previous version it was ok.
I have also noticed this when I installed flash 9 on fedora 6.

the one in repo works for me...no loss of synch. Sure you cleared out the old flash 7 out of all plugin folders?

As h2's title says, it's flashplugin-nonfree. It's in the regular repositories, "contrib" section. The debian package doesn't actually include the flash binary ("libflashplayer.so"), but includes code that downloads and installs it for you.

Yeah and I've uninstalled it, deleted the folder and re-installed and it's the same.
I'm generally using firefox 1.5.0.7 but I also have firefox 2 and it's the same with that.
