Here's the message:

anticapitalista@KanotixBox:~$ links2 -g

links2 text mode works fine. Using fully upgraded kanotix 2005-04.

Thanks in advance

Sounds like you're launching links2 in an X window session. Switch to a VT and try it there.
Code:
CTRL+ALT+F1
links2 -g

Make sure gpm is running so you also have a mouse.

Works here. Smilie

Thanks for the reply.

But no luck even fron a VT, I get the same message.

If I open links2 -g as root in aterm or VT it works.

Maybe I've got some permissions problem somewhere.

BTW links2 -g works ok on debian sid and Mepis (sid).

Kanotix 2005-04 fully dist-upgraded IS Debian Sid.
Are you sure you are fully dist-upgraded?
Are you sure you use the official sources.list?
NEVER OPEN LINKS2 AS ROOT!!
Greetings,
Chris

Another lightweight web browser. Interesting. Thanks for pointing it out.

A Google search indicates your issue ("links2 -g" does not start from within a console) is a known bug with the current version in Sid. Try removing it and installing the one from Etch (testing).

OK, OK! Geez! Am I going to go on the "No Fly" list now? What's the security issue here?

Fully upgraded (dist-upgraded)
Using official sources.list
I only opened links2 as root to see if it works, it does, but as user I get the above message.

I think the problem might be with tty0, but I have no idea how to solve it.

Thanks eco2geek.

I'll do that when I get home.
