Hi Guys. After days of wrestling with different setups i have eventually got Kanotix running sweet with FreeNX. I have previously been a Slax convert (using backtrack) and love the openness of Kanotix. I am having a few issues though with FreeNX i was hoping someone could help with.
My setup: FreeNX (server) running on Kanotix. Running NXClient 1.5 on several windows systems.
Basically i needed secure access to my shares on my Windows file server from around the world. I thought the best way to go through some sort of Linux Remote Access Server into my file server. Obviously i know NX is not a RAS but a thin end client system. This looks like it could work a treat though (thinking of sacking the windows and using the Linux box as the file server).
My main problem/query is though......
....how would it be possible to get files from the Linux box to the client if i wanted the file? I was thinking, set up email so i could email it to myself or setting up an FTP server so i could drop it there and recover in windows,
There has to be an easier way though. Some sort of permanent home on the local machine as there is with the USB stick.
Any help would be appreciated guys. Now im getting into this ill be around quite a bit.
