I am getting this error and not sure how to load header files and then point vmware install this to it

I tried apt-get install linux-headers-(uname -r)

but then it said Package linux-headers-2.6.18.1-kanotix-1 is not available, but is referred to by another package.

I had vmware workstation working before but since updates seems to be not working

Used vmware-any-any-update109 still no good.

any help greatly appreciated

Maybe install the kernel with the including script again. That installs the headers too. Also

make-kernel-links

can help.

The links fixed it thanks again Kano, still got a problem with the graphical logon by the way!
