Post subject: dialup configuration is not being saved. (works now thanks)

Hi all
every time I want to use the internet I have to reconfigure the modem
I am using kano 2004-5
I am configuring with the kano fish icon at the bottom as well as in the startup menu
1st - network/internet etc
2nd -dev/modem setup configuration
3rd -serial
4th -ttys0
5th -klick yes to set the symlink /dev/modem
I have to do this every time I want to use the net. The setting in kppp are ok.

| Q: Kanotix installed? or do you run it from CD? |

run pppconfig , as root,follow its prompts
go to 'advanced' options, to add yourself as user
then u will[should] be able to connect by typing 'pon' as user |
