yes, what happens is that when dpkg generates a serious error, the dist-upgrade stops there.

The bit that is concerning is that there is no error message to say that the upgrade has stopped.
I did download & run the ISO but the CD will not boot. I made sure I burned CD as "DAO". When I start with CD I get error in RED
TEXT saying it cannot find the filesystem.....and dropping me to a (limited) shell.......I never have problems buring the .ISO's so I am wondering if this may be a fluke.
