General Support - What happened to the slh kernels?

Titel: What happened to the slh kernels?
Hi,
I downloaded the 2.6.18-3 slh kernel a few days ago from the Kanotix main page (http://www.kanotix.com). However, since I have a dual-core machine and discovered that the slh kernel that I had downloaded and installed only detected a single core, I wanted to go and install the smp version. However, I can no longer find reference to the slh kernels on the main page. Any idea where they have gone? Thanks for your help.

Any idea why they have been removed from the list on the main page?

Thanks for the link devil. Just out of curiosity, is there any detailed list of the patches that have been applied to the slh kernel? I've searched the forums and found that it has some nice features such as the ability to override the details dsdt table but didn't run into a complete list. Thanks for your help.

Oh? Why did he left? Does this also mean that we don't see newer slh kernels in the future? Also wondering that this isn't worth a news entry.

Gibt es nähere Informationen warum slh Kanotix nicht mehr unterstützt ? Wird das Auswirkungen auf zukünftige Releases haben ?

I agree

This would be a good time to say "thank you" to all those who've contributed to the Kanotix project: the coders, the artists, the documentation writers, those who solve "dist-upgrade" bugs, etc.

It's very generous of people to work hard to put together something as complicated as an operating system, and then give it all away.

As with all Kanotix kernels there is a script that builds the source for you.
Read it and you will have the answers. Smilie

Indeed. There is a lot more:

http://kanotix.com/PNphpBB2-viewtopic-t-22830.html

But nothing official yet, except that slh has left kanotix, but you know that from devil already.
An interesting *rumor* is that Kanotix might use Ubuntu instead of Debian Sid.

Bummer. I used his 64-bit SMP kernels Auf den Arm nehmen
Thanks, for doing them all this time, slh, if you're still reading this Smilie

I guess the big question now is how do we get updated 64-bit SMP kernels now?

And as for the Ubuntu rumor...I'd hope not. I've always viewed Ubuntu as a bastardized Debian distro like Knoppix Winken

Well, at least Knoppix *is* Debian based, even if not very good for HD install.

But Ubuntu *is not* Debian any longer (or it never was)

From what I understand, it's a mix of sid and sarge, so it's really hard to dist-upgrade Auf den Arm nehmen
