General Support - LiveCD will not boot on my system

Titel: LiveCD will not boot on my system
Acer Aspire 5102WLMi
- 2GB Ram
- 120GB HD
- ATI Radeon Express 1100
- AMD Turion 64 x2 TL50
- Atheros 5005G Wireless

Once it begins to start X11 all I see is the following endlessly. X11 never boots.

azx_get_response timeout
printk: ## messages suppressed.

These messages actually start earlier on but it's most noticeable when X11 is trying to load because no other text is coming.

It will boot in Safe Mode. I've tried to turn various things off such as ACPI, DMA, ect to get it to boot but no luck. I've tried both the 32bit and latest 64bit version.

Any suggestions. I love this distro and it works great on my desktops, however I really want to get it up on my notebook.

TIA..

I had a nearly same problem on an acer. Try cheatcode

NOPCMCIA

on booting menu. Or try to exclude some other module. Look here:

According to what I have found quickly with Google this azx_get_response message is probably related to the built-in sound. First you should name the sound device in this notebook then hopefully someone can help.

Tried every of the boot options, no luck. Also did a BIOS update to make sure that wasn't a problem.

It's strange because failsafe off the livecd loads but disabling each detection option manually after a HD install won't. It must be a combination of problems since no single option seems to work.

Here's how I got it setup.
From Failsafe I installed it to sda2 on a 10gig part (external USB hard drive). I installed Grub on the MBR of the internal hd.

nomce noacpi nomodem noaudio noapic nodma pci=bios nopcmcia

Only thing left is the network cards. the wireless is suspect but I don' see an option to kill detection for it.
