Titel: Kanotix don't see my hard disks (SATA)...

Dear All,
I would like to install kanotix in my PC with 2 hard disk (SATA). Actually is running knoppix 4.0. When I use the kanotix CD live and the process go to the end I can see that only my DVD device was detected (/dev/hda) but nothing for my hard disks.
For this reason when I try to use kanotix-installer finish in error.
During the load process of kanotix I don't see nothing about the information about my hard disks but detect a swap partition and install it on /dev/sda2 (actually knoppix have the swap partition on /dev/sda2). How can install the swap partition on my first hard disk if it wasn't detected? I don't understand nothing.
Someone can help me to resolve this problem?

we need some more info on the hds and the board/controller.
do you use only sata-disks? sata or sata2? what sata controller on what mainboard?
dont worry about the swap, you can change that in a minute after install.

Upsss! (I don't understand nothing)
Today when I try again to boot with kanotix the hard disks were now detected. I see them on /etc/fstab also using fdisk -l and now the kanotix-installer see the linux partition
/(sda1,sda2,sda3 and sdb1).
Only QtParted program don't see my hard disks, it only see /dev/hda that correspond to mi DVD device.

forget qtparted, not a reliable tool.
if you need further partitioning, use cfdisk from konsole (see faq) or get gparted live-cd at:
http://gparted.sourceforge.net/
