Titel: Probleme mit Update auf X 7.1

Habe die Cebit-Edition 2006 upgedatet auf X 7.1 und KDE 3.5.4. Durch Eingabe von
# sh fix-xorg.7.sh
# install-nvdia-debian.sh
wurden Probleme vermieden; alles sah gut aus, bis ich die Bildschirmauflösung durch change-res auf 1280x1024 änderte.
Früher. z. B. unter 2005-4 funktionierte das immer durch Eingabe von drei Perl-Zeilen, die mal von Kano online gestellt wurden und die Ihr sicher noch kennt. Dieses Mal aber versuchte ich es zunächst mit change-res, später auch mit knxcc in der Konsole. Resultat: Er ändert die Auflösung korrekt auf 1280x1024. Es gibt jedoch folgende Probleme:
1) Die Bildwiederholfrequenz beträgt jetzt 76 Hz, obwohl 60 Hz angemessener wären. Mein Monitor ist ein 19 Zoll TFT BenQ FP931, Grafikkarte eine Geforce4 MX 440 mit 64 MB. Beides wird von dem Nvidia-Treiber korrekt erkannt und wiedergegeben (in dem Nvidia-Programm unter System, "NVIDIA X Server Settings").
Ich habe bereits wieder die Perl-Zeilen von Kano durchlaufen lassen, um ihn auf die gewünschten 60 Hz runterzuzwingen, wie das früher noch möglich war, selbst noch unter X 7.0, diesmal aber ohne Erfolg.
2) Am rechten Bildschirmrand "fehlen" jetzt nach Auflösungsänderung 1,5 Zentimeter. Dies lässt sich am Monitor nicht verändern. Ich kann die Bildposition am Monitor verändern wie ich will, den rechten "Trauerrand" kriege ich nicht weg. Die Auflösung 1024x768 wird dagegen korrekt angezeigt, auch von der Live-CD.
Könnten beide Probleme miteinander zusammenhängen?
Und wie könnte ich noch versuchen, ihn auf 60 Hz zu bringen? Müsste bzw. könnte ich die xorg.conf manuell verändern? Weiß aber nicht, wie das geht, da ich keine Ahnung habe, welches die richtigen Horizontal- und Vertikaleinstellungen sind, die mein Monitor braucht, und die müsste ich da ja irgendwie angeben.

P.S. Spätere Versionen kann ich derzeit nicht installieren, weil die Live-CDs aus unerfindlichen Gründen "hängen", auch die neuere RC3. Daher das Update der Cebit-Edition. |

Huhu!
Anscheinend wird auch Dein Benq Monitor falsch erkannt. Ich habe dann vertrefresh auf 60.0 gesetzt, die Modelines auskommenttiert und unter modes "1280x1024" eingetragen (ist bei Dir schon da).
Dann ging's, allerdings habe ich bei mir noch Xorg 7.0x laufen.
Aus irgendeinem Grund ging der update auf 7.1 nicht.
Falls der Update nicht unbedingt notwendig, geh zurück auf testing...

das Problem hatt ich auch. War bei mir gelöst, nachdem ich alle Zeilen beginnend mit "ModeLine" gelöscht hatte.

Die Bildwiederholfrequenz kannst Du ändern, indem Du bei "Screen" die Einträge änderst:
Modes "1280x1024_60", also bei den Modes "_60" hizufügst. Danach X neu starten und die 60 Hz sind da. |

Danke für Eure Antworten! Die Probleme sind gelöst, dauerte nicht einmal eine Minute, und zwar fast ohne was an der xorg.conf zu verändern, ein Auskommentieren und Löschen in "Section Monitor" war nicht nötig.
Es genügte bereits, was Pedrito schrieb: Bei "Screen" den "1280x1024" jeweils ein "_60" hinzuzufügen, also "1280x1024_60". Danach waren nicht nur die 60 Hz da, auch der "Trauerrand" rechts war wie erwartet verschwunden.
Also vielen Dank noch einmal!

Von der 2005-4 aus ist es mir auch nicht gelungen, auf X 7.1 upzudaten, das ging jetzt nur mit der Cebit, allerdings auch nur im zweiten Anlauf und ohne ein größeres apt-get dist-upgrade. |
