Abend,
Hab alles von der Live CD installiert, leider bei jedem hochfahren komm ich nur in den textmodus obwohl die Live CD von CD gebootet einwandfrei lief. Hab ich irgendwas falsch gemacht? Muss ich irgend ne Einstellung noch machen?
Der X-Server kommt au nich hoch wenn ich startx eingebe... .

| Mh, normalerweise sollte es auch von der Platte laufen (tat es hier bislang auch immer). Ist die CD mit Sicherheit in Ordnung? Vielleicht konnten irgendwelche Dateien beim Kopieren auf die Platte nicht gelesen werden? |

ok hab ich ausprobiert, der sagt "command not found".
Am anfang wenn ich das system starte sagt er mir am ende der initialisierung kurz vor dem login noch das hier: "Not starting X Displaymanager (xdm)"
hat das damit was auf sich das ich keine grafische oberfläche bekomm? |

| Besser knxcc-kde nicht installieren. Denke, da kommt eine Menge KDE-Kram wegen der Abhängigkeiten mit. Aber Sinnig wäre schon eine neuere Version zu ziehen und neu zu installieren. Sonst hat man ja neue Socken in alten Schuhen. |

Kanotix-2006-1-64, wenn es denn kommt. Oder ein aktualisiertes 2005-4-64. Hier wird nicht nach der Hardware gefragt. Denn alle Bibliotheken und Verweise einer Distribution sind direkt mit dem Kernel und seiner Architektur verbandelt. Ein 32-Bit Kanotix mit 32-Bit Kernel läuft aber hervorragend auf 64-Bit Hardware.

Irgendwie lustig wie die leute dem 64bit wahn verfallen sind, seit das auf den rechnern draufsteht.
64bit sind doppelt so viel wie 32bit, deswegen ist der dann auch doppelt so schnell, oder?

ne im ernst, vergiss mal für einen moment das 64bit zeugs, installier die aktuelle 32bit version, davon haste mehr, die letzte 64bit ist recht alt und ne neue is tnoch nicht fertig.
im prinzip bringt dir 64bit keinen wirklichen vorteil im moment, nur eventuelle inkompatibilitäten und probleme.
Bei der 16 zu 32bit-transition damals ging das auch nicht von heute auf morgen.
