I have a dual boot system with Windows XP and Kanotix 12 (latest version and all updates ) and now can't access XP. The message when trying to boot to XP is: chainloader (hd0,0)+1 then the system hangs. I am using a SCSI drive and XP was loaded first and all the updates and programs added, and then Kanotix was loaded and all the updates done. Now I can't access XP partition. Your help would be appreciated on a fix for my problem.
Thanks
Jon

After KDE has loaded, press ALT-F2, type konsole (yeah, konsole with k ). A windows will open. Type "sux" and it will ask you for your root password. After that, you can type fdisk -l Post the output in here

Looks basically correct. Maybe you killed the win bootloader differntly

chainloader (hd0,0)+1

would be correct - and that should be the last line in your /boot/grub/menu.lst
