In live mode it ask for login and password the fisrt screen
The password is...?

Hi jtouso,
welcome to Kanotix. In generell live mode is autologin enabled. The password for user "kanotix" is only "live" (for sure without the quotes  ) and for "root" is no password active. If sudo does not fit your needs for root privileges you can set a root pw via sudo passwd
The problem why you get a login screen is maybe a graphic driver problem. If you have nvidia or ati gfx you can try install the proprietary nvidia/ati driver.
