Simple way to install ComfyUI on Debian/Ubuntu systems First check your python version: $ python3 --version Python 3.11.2 In this case you need to install this (use sudo on Ubuntu) apt install python3.11-venv You always need git apt install git After you installed the global depends, you can use the rest of the scripts as user. sh clone-to-home-ai-comfyui.sh Is to clone ComfyUI and some often needed addons to your home (you can change the TARGET of course) By default you can go to your installation this way: cd ~/AI/ComfyUI If you have got a NVIDIA graphics card with (latest) binary driver installed, use the start-gpu.sh script (cpu is just for reference). You can mod the script to use lowvram if you expericence too many crashes with your workflows. There is start-gpu-amd.sh script too for AMD GPUs but due to missing GPU I can not test it. Listen mode is enabled by default, so every system in your network can use it, disable to keep it on localhost only). chmod +x start-gpu.sh ./start-gpu.sh If you get stuck like this (or if you want to recreate the venv): ./start-Xpu.sh: 1: .: cannot open venv-linux/bin/activate: No such file do in the ComfyUi directory rm -fr venv-linux First you are asked for a username and password to protect your gui from unauthorized usage, if you forget your password delete the login folder. The first checkpoint to run the default workflow goes to open ~/AI/ComfyUI/models/checkpoints To download the first checkpoint you can use this command: wget -NP ~/AI/ComfyUI/models/checkpoints https://huggingface.co/Comfy-Org/stable-diffusion-v1-5-archive/resolve/main/v1-5-pruned-emaonly-fp16.safetensors To reload the model directory press "r". For other workflows and models use your favorite search engine. If you install something via the ComfyUI-Manager that requires a restart please stop the script and run it again, otherwise it might now work well if restarted via GUI.
