Basic Build & Installation Steps
=========================================

LINUX:

Build & installation of gl2benchmark version 0.1 is currently only tested on Debian-Unstable (sid), but it should work on all modern linux installations, containing the latest packages.

The environment variable OSG_FILE_PATH must be set to the gl2benchmark-data directory, included in the source package!

The most easiest way to build is installing the latest version of kdevlop3 (IDE), simply open the projectfile and it is easy to configure, build and run the application.

build from console:

1) change into your gl2benchmark dir

2) ./configure

3) make

4) make install (su)

5) do not forget to check if OSG_FILE_PATH is set correctly.

WIN32:

The code itself should build without any changes necessary, if for example -> the build environment visual studio 2005 (C++ Express Edition) is in use.
gl2benchmark already was successful linked & run against the binaries of the osg-binary installer package version 1.2-2 (http://www.openscenegraph.org/downloads/binaries/osg1.2_setup_2006-09-13.exe),
using Visual Studio 2005 Express Edition. The MS Platform SDK must be installed on the system.

Projectfiles to make build-steps easy under win32 are under work.

The environment variable OSG_FILE_PATH must be set to the gl2benchmark-data directory, included in the source package!

OTHER PLATFORM ??

Basically it should build&run on each platform where infrastructure is ready to build & run OpenSceneGraph.

If the compiler supports standard c++, no code changes should be neccesary.

examples: OSX, BSD
