Hi
I just got myself a Canon Pixma 4200 BJC printer but having some difficulty getting it to work.
From the "ControlCenter->Peripherals->Printers" the printer was correctly recoginised and all the way to the end, the installation seemd to go flawlesly, however at the end of the installation, where it says <Test> the printer, I get
Quote:
Client-error-bad-request
error and all the installation stops...

Is there any way to fix this problem?

cheers

Just looking at the site:
Code:
http://software.canon-europe.com/products/0010232.asp

I think the solution could be there but the problem wasn't th that the printer not getting recognised, just the last bit after everything installed where it fails to load!!

Also, has anyone know about running Win32 drivers under linux?

Code:
http://www.linuxant.com/company/press_dldr.php

Perhaps try this

http://www.turboprint.de/english.html

Should always use http://localhost:631/ to configure printers

..now that was easy!

but I have to re-edit my last post....
Turbo print was a pleasure to install and it said, free for personal use. Why, then in the middle of the pages of my printouts, I get a huge TurboPrint logo asking me to purchase their product!

This was their reply
Code:

Re: TurboPrint for Personal use

Dear Mr. Kacmaz,

thank you for your request!

TurboPrint "FreeEdition" prints without logo in low print resolution (e.g.
300dpi with Canon printers, 360dpi with Epson printers). In higher
resolution and with inkjet media it works as a demo version (TurboPrint
logo printed on the page).

There is a license for private use (EUR 29.95) and for professional use
(EUR 79.-) - see www.turboprint.info for details.

Best regards
Florian Zeiler

Still, it's a good piece of software... Cool
