Hi guys,
Has anyone tried to install IBM Lotus Symphony, IBM's new version of OpenOffice?:

The .bin complains that it needs glibc v2.4, but Debian Etch has only v2.2. Would it be a bad idea to install v2.4?
My error message:

/lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.4' not found
(required by ./IBM_Lotus_Symphony_Linux.bin)
Apparently Ubuntu people are installing Symphony with a couple of tweaks:

(Yes, I have desk effects off, like the page says.) This is a major app release, so I was just wondering.

| You would need Lenny/Sid or current Ubuntu for that deb. For Etch you need another one. |

| The software you want to use was compiled against a newer glibc than etch has. Therefore it does not work. |

| ahh I see, Kano. Shame that Symphony will not work on ThorHammer at least not yet. Not sure if there is or will be a build for Etch. |

Kano: I inquired with IBM as to the availability of a Symphony build for debian etch. At this point one is not planned...but still is under consideration. If I hear anything will post a response.
