Titel: no write acces to .ICEauthority ??

when starting an older version of kano I get the following error
"the following installation problem was detected while trying to start KDE
No write access to '/home/dave/.ICEauthority'
KDE is unable to start"
the i get a box with "could not start ksmserver"
I have started the computer with init 3 mode to find the .ICEauthority file with
ls /home/dave/.*.* as well as ls /home/dave/.* but neither shown that .ICEauthority file exist
any ideas on how to fix this as it is the working version until I get the new kano with the programs I use

Usually the hd is full. Try
apt-get clean
btw.
ls -al
is what you seek for. |

I used icewm (I think) to login, then used kdf to check if the hard drive was full but the root drive had about 2 gig spare ( not sure right now if I have a seperate home drive will check that next)
