Post subject: Missing libXm.so.3 Library  PostPosted: Dec 20, 2006 - 10:12 PM

Hello:

I am trying to run an application, but Iobtain the following error:

"error while loading shared libraries: libXm.so.3: cannot open shared object file:"
"No such file or directory"

This is an X-library. What is the best way to install the X library under Kanotix such that I have this library and other libraries as well?

Thanks for your help with this.

Regards,

Angelo

Hello:

I found my answer.

The libXm.so3 library is contained in the libmotif3 package.

I installed the libmotif3 package, and everything is OK now.

Regards,

Angelo

There ya go Smilie

I run into that same problem...it turns out that the package you installed was probably missing a dependency on the libmotif3 package.
