Nach ein paar bösen Erfahrungen mit D-U hätte ich gerne ein "Konsolidierungssystem" auf meinem Rechner.
Viele Forumeinträge lassen den Schluss zu, dass das in der Gemeinde durchaus üblich ist.
Nur leider fand ich auch nach intensivstem Umgraben keinen Hinweis, wie ich das angehen sollte.
So versuchte ich einfach mal eine Kopie meiner Original-/-Partition in eine neu geschaffene Plattenabteilung (hd0,2 -> hd1,1).
Zuerst änderte ich fstab in meiner neuen Installation und mounte meine neue Partition als /.
Dann montierte ich in menu.lst herum:

kernel /boot/vmlinuz root=/dev/hda3 ro ramdisk_size=100000 lang=de apm=power-off nomce vga=0x317
initrd /boot/initrd.img

Aber leider. Mein Boot läuft trotzdem immer wieder auf meine Ori-Partition.
Und irgendwie hab ich jetzt überhaupt keinen Ansatz mehr - Hilfe. |

Hallo safran.
Erstens solltest du nicht im Automagic-Bereich editieren, das kann alles beim nächsten update überschrieben werden, also verschiebe deinen Eintrag unter die Zeile

dann entferne mal den initrd Eintrag oder kommentiere ihn aus.

Lass den initrd-Eintrag weg (oder lege vom Sicherungsystem aus eine seperate initrd dafür an mittels mkinitrd.yaird ...), wird normalerweise nur gebraucht bei 'unüblichen' root-Filesystem konfigurationen (dm-crypt root, raid auf root, lvm auf root etc.)
